Solar Sister Exhibit to travel with Mancuso Quilt Festivals

by Allison Wilbur on March 4, 2014

Mancuso Quilt Festivals will be displaying the “Solar Sister: Empowering Women through Clean Energy” Challenge Exhibit at all seven of their venues starting this week with the Quilt Fest of New Jersey at the Garden State Exhibit Center March 6 – 9. We  hope you will get to one of the venues to see the exhibit – all information on dates and venues can be found on our website calendar or on the Mancuso Quilt Festival website.  When you are viewing the exhibit, we hope you will be inspired to take action in support of Solar Sister. Perhaps you will make a personal donation to this wonderful non profit organization or perhaps you will ask your guild to sponsor a Solar Sister entrepreneur with a $500 donation raised through the guild’s annual raffle quilt.  Or encourage someone who is seeing the quilts for the first time to visit the Quilt for Change and Solar Sister websites to learn more about energy poverty.  The artists who made these quilts hoped that their creative efforts would raise awareness about energy poverty and call quilters to action to help our sisters around the world achieve energy independence. Please share this post on facebook and twitter so we can get as many quilters as possible to see the quilts and get involved!!
