“Water is Life” to Open March 22 in Geneva

by Dick Wilbur on March 18, 2016

We are delighted to share photos of the forty-one quilts that make up the traveling “Water is Life Exhibit.” Every other day (or so!), we will post another photo from this powerful exhibit along with the artist’s statement.  Look for the first photo and statement on March 22, World Water Day.

“Water is Life: Clean Water and its Impact on the Lives of Women and Girls around the World” will run in Geneva, Switzerland, at the United Nations’ European Headquarters, the Palais des Nations, from March 21-31.  Thousands of diplomats, government officials, leaders of non-governmental organizations and visiting tourists will view the quilts, and the opening on March 22 will feature as one of the key events being organized to celebrate World Water Day on March 22.

We hope you enjoy this rich display of talent, artistry and thoughtful interpretation of the exhibit’s theme by the 41 quilt artists whose work has been selected to travel to Geneva, Rome, the New England Quilt Museum, and with Mancuso Quilt Festivals across the United States over the next two years.
