If you are in New England, we hope you can make it to the artists’ reception for “Water is Life: The Impact of Clean Water on the Lives of Women and Girls.” The reception will be on Saturday, March 4 at 11:00 am at the museum which is located at 18 Shattuck St in Lowell, MA. Parking is available at the Lowell Visitor Center parking lot. Stop in the Visitor Center to have you parking ticket validated for free parking. You can also park behind the museum for free on Saturdays on Middle Street. Look for the large quilt block painted on the building above the parking lot.

Allison and Dick Wilbur, founders of Quilt for Change will speak about the exhibit and several of the artists will be in attendance, including Lynn Miller, Donnette Cooper, Joan Blade Johnson and Cathey LaBonte. Water is Life debuted at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva to commemorate UN World Water Day in March 2016 under the auspices of the US Mission to the United Nations in Geneva. It then travelled to Rome, Italy for a display in Frascati, Italy in September 2016 which was organized by Susan Fiorentino of the American Exchange Rome.

The exhibit will be on display through April 29 and will travel with Mancuso Quilt Festivals to six major quilt festivals in 2017 – 2018.
